Sometimes the Truth is Unbelievable

We are well on our journey through this season of Lent.  We have been traveling through the narrative lectionary passages which have us focused on the Gospel according to John and the final days of Jesus’ life here on earth.  This week our Gospel passage is John 18:28-40which focuses on Jesus on trial before Pilate and their dialogue.  In this periscope is the infamous question by Pilate…..”what is truth?”

And we all know from our life’s experiences that “SOMETIMES THE TRUTH IS UNBELIEVABLE”.  Responses to many queries in life prove this over and over again.  We see the miracles of everyday living and wonder “how” and/or “why” and without fail, the truth of the matter at hand always bubbles to the top.  Or when we hear “fake news” and blatant lies, we need only wait and the truth gets revealed.    We spend countless hours and many efforts trying to find that truth that exists in the midst of all of those uncertainties.  But should we spend our time in that effort or on something else?  Is it all just a waste of time?  Let’s see if we can find some answers and certainly find some truth
