What if church were a verb, instead of a noun? Would you come?
Woodridge United Methodist Church isn’t a Sunday-only place. It’s a verb kind of place with verb kind of people. We are passionate about mission, service, and showing God’s love, here and all over the world. We:
- Provide food and volunteers for a PADS homeless shelter for DuPage County families
- Give generously to a worldwide network of international and local mission efforts of many kinds bringing food, water, health care, education, and the story of Jesus
- Enable kids of all ages to grow and learn at Sunday School and events like Vacation Bible School, Easter Egg Hunt, Harvest Celebration, and Advent Event
- Praise God through the music and dance of our adult choir, children’s choir, worship band, and interpretive dance group
- Listen and love through Kairos Prison Ministry at Dwight women’s prison
- Connect youth with faith through Wednesday Night Live and our Confirmation program
- Travel to Bolivia, the Gulf Coast, the Philippines, and more to offer hands-on service
- Work to help more families through the West Suburban Food Pantry every week, but especially at Thanksgiving through Christmas
- Teach and guide our little ones in the Small Miracles Preschool and professionally staffed nursery
- Fight bullying, human trafficking, and discrimination with money, action, and words
- Make our church a safe place for children and all people through clear and strong “Safe Sanctuaries” policies and facilities
- Share the building with many community organizations, including a Muslim congregation
