Reverend Dave Buerstetta
The Rev. Dave Buerstetta started serving as one of the pastors at Woodridge United Methodist Church in 1995 and is currently our Koinonia Pastor. The strange word in that title comes from a Greek term used in the New Testament that means ‘building community for action.’ It seems to fit as Dave endeavors to do just that in his areas of leadership responsibility including youth ministry, confirmation, adult education, outreach and weekly worship.
Striving to “love God and love our neighbors” in all facets of life makes social justice, spiritual practices, equality, sustainability, and postmodern theology some of Dave’s passions, along with baseball, hockey and movies of course.
Dave and his wife Joann have two children and live in Naperville, IL. He is a graduate of Augustana College in Rock Island, IL and Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL and is ordained by the American Baptist Church, USA. (Yes, there is an interesting story behind that; ask him about it sometime.)
