Our Vision for Youth Ministry at WUMC

 For WUMC to be a place to belong, a place to know God loves you, and a place to hear God calling you to a life of loving service for the transformation of the world.

Worship, conversation, study, prayer and serving others are our main tools for accomplishing that vision.

Sunday worship gatherings, Confirmation program and Wednesday Night Live are the main times those tools are practiced. We hope you'll join us.

Wednesday Night Live & Confirmation

WNL 2012 Schedule: each Wednesday 6:15pm to 8:15pm at Woodridge UMC.

The evening starts with games. Dinner follows at 6:30pm. After that we learn, chat, wonder, pray, discuss, share, listen, sing, question, and create until 8:15pm.

As a bonus for those interested, our adult leaders will be available for homework tutoring, counseling, and continuing conversations until 8:45pm.

Youth Ministry Upcoming Schedule

Sunday, May 19th: Confirmation Sunday! Arrive at church by 9:45am. Those being confirmed will be introduced to the congregation at the end of first worship service. Confirmation vows taken during 10:30am service. Congratulations to Allie, Olivia, Patrick, Mylene, Jay, Bradley, Meg, Declan, Marisa, Cassie, Alexis, Lindsay, Taylor, Kyle, Joseph, Kayleigh, Rachel, Matthew and Matthew! And big thanks to our fantastic Confirmation teacher, Martine!

Wednesday, May 22: Senior Night & Awards Banquet! Don't miss this annual favorite as our WNL year comes to a close. We recognize our terrific seniors and everybody gets a silly award. Dinner starts at 6:15. We'll end early, at 8:00pm. Mission Trip meeting follows, 8:00-9:00pm.

Summer Fun Events for all Youth (entering 7th - just-graduated seniors)

Tuesday, June 11: mini golf. Meet at church at 7:00pm. (Bowling is our bad weather plan.) Return by 8:30pm.

Thursday, July 11: Day at the beach at Warren Dunes, MI. Meet at church 8:30am; return about 8:30pm. Bring sack lunch, $ for fast food dinner, towel, and any beach toys you'd like. 

Saturday, July 13: WUMC day at Dupage Hounds baseball game. More details soon.

Monday - Thursday, July 15-18: Vacation Bible School. 5:00-8:00pm. We always need lots of volunteers! Contact Pastor Dave. 

Friday, Aug. 2: Picnic at Castaldo Park. Times tbd. 

Saturday, Aug. 10: WUMC day at Kane County Cougars. More details soon. 

2013 Summer Mission Trip

The mission trip does not just happen June 22nd to 29th. Proper preparation is paramount for a successful trip. And directed debriefing and contemplation is the key to integrating our experiences into our lives.
