Overwhelmed - V'yisa'u
The Israelites were overwhelmed with the Egyptian army at their heels as they stood at the edge of the Red Sea. (Exodus 14:10-15) The Disciples were overwhelmed when Jesus invited them to feed the 5,000. (John 6:1-21) What about us today? Often it seems like everything radiates tension and our world is like the skin of a balloon being inflated toward the breaking point. If this is where we are at the crossroad, how can we possibly move and change?
