Get Ready to Wait

Happy New Year!!!  For those of you who have been around for a while, you know that the first Sunday of Advent is considered to be the first Sunday of the new Christian year.  Sooooooooooo....happy new year!!!

And as we begin this new year, our theme for this year is THE GIFT OF THE NUTCRACKER.  We will study together and worship together around this theme.  This week we will focus on the waiting of the season of Advent.  The season is full of examples of the faithful who waited in anticipation.....like Mary and the prophets of the Old Testament for a new day when Jerusalem will be saved.

So we too are in the mode to "GET READY TO WAIT".  What are the things we look forward to?  Do we anticipate a "new world outlook" where peace and justice exist or are we simply looking forward to another day filled with the regular stresses of life?  Getting ready to wait for some seems more like an oxymoron than a stance for a follower of Christ.  But the prophet Jeremiah and Mary's Song remind us that there is another perspective to take.  We are reminded of the possibilities that are available in and through our belief in Christ.

Response: "Waiting...waiting....waiting

a Season of expectation, a Season of anticipation, a Season of curiosity, a Season of looking for what can be in a world that is, A Season of In Between

It's the little things that can make the difference in someone's life (and ours too).  We are waiting and working!" - Karen M.
