Scattering the Palms

EVERYBODY LOVES A PARADE!!!  Except when it disrupts the into city, especially Jerusalem!  Yes, it's Palm Sunday and we will wave our palms in celebration of the arrival of Jesus into the city of Jerusalem.  A week filled with so many mixed emotions begins with a parade of palm branches and shouts of "Hosanna".

But why the palm branches and the parade?  What are we doing here knowing that Jesus is being hunted down by the authorities because of His teachings that are contrary to the "societal norms".  Jesus is talking about love, compassion and caring while the rest of the world is focusing on power, greed, and injustice.  How can that not stir up trouble for the world?  As we focus on "SCATTERING THE PALMS" may we not forget that this parade was not some ordinary, quiet gathering of like-minded people, but one of world-changing, thought provoking, politically challenging viewpoints that would make a difference in people's lives should they believe.

The week is filled with many raw emotions..... denial, betrayal, and even death are present and we invite you to join us on the journey:

Sunday -- Palm Sunday Celebration

Thursday -- Soup and worship with communion

Friday -- Remembering the darkness of Good Friday

Saturday -- Time of prayer, silence, reflection and remembrance

Walk with us as we walk with Jesus through the darkest of nights to the brightest of days.  Check other places in our e-news for times and details but start out by joining us on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. in person or on YouTube.
