By Water and the Spirit part 1: Marked for Life

08.04.23 | by Rev Danita Anderson

Last month we explored one of the two sacraments practiced in the United Methodist Church... communion.  During the month of August we will take a look at the other one... baptism, with our theme being "BY WATER AND THE SPIRIT". Yes, we will answer the query of what does it mean to "denounce the spiritual forces of wickedness in whatever ways they present themselves"!!  Say what?  Yep, that is a part of the baptismal liturgy!!!!  (Whatever the heck that means.)

As we explore our theme for the month, BY WATER AND THE SPIRIT, we will take a look at why baptism is important and what it means for each of us.  Whether you remember the event or not, our baptism meant that we were MARKED FOR LIFE!!  Even if we don't like tattoos of any sort, our baptism has marked us for eternity!!  But don't worry, we won't ask you to show it to everybody on Sunday, more likely to just show it to everyone!!

Sounds interesting?  Sounds like fun?  Well, yes it will be!  Join us on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. and have fun while we worship.  If you aren't able to be with us in person, join us by way of our YouTube channel.   See you then!
