No One Knows When Jesus Will Return

The prophet Isaiah addressed the Northern Kingdom of Judah with a striking rebuke: “You rulers of Sodom and you people of Gomorrah, hear the word of the Lord and listen to the teaching of our God.” Sodom and Gomorrah had become synonymous with extreme wickedness—particularly greed and injustice.

In the Book of Genesis, these cities infamously mistreated strangers who were actually God’s angels. Rather than offering hospitality, the people of Sodom sought to dominate and humiliate them, revealing a culture devoid of kindness, respect, or compassion—marked instead by brutality and injustice.

No one knows when Jesus will return. This truth reminds us that we are all equal in our dependence on God’s grace and guidance. We don’t know what the future holds—not even what might happen just a few hours from now. That’s why Jesus calls us to be ready: to live with open hearts, prepared to help others and share the blessings God has entrusted to us with those in need.

Please come and explore the Scriptures with us and reflect on what they are saying to those of us living in today’s world. All are invited!
