One Flock, One Shepherd

John 20:22-30
Jesus taught regularly in the temple, and his teachings sparked intense debate among the Jews regarding his identity, origins, and authority. This led to deep division—some believed he was the Messiah, while others accused him of being demon-possessed or even a blasphemer deserving death (John 7:40–44; 8:48, 59). After the conversation recorded in today’s passage, the crowd became so enraged that they attempted to stone him because he declared, “The Father and I are one.”
Jesus said to them, “You do not believe because you do not belong to my sheep. My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” Jesus came not to create division, but to bring unity and oneness. So what, then, causes the arguments and divisions among us? Let us reflect on this week’s lessons as we examine our lives and our beliefs.
