Put on Jesus Christ

Romans 13:11-14 / Matthew 24:36–44

This Sunday, the First Sunday of Advent, we begin a new Christian year—a season of hope, expectation, and preparation for the coming of Christ. In our sermon, we will reflect on Jesus’ call to stay awake and live faithfully in the “in-between time”—the period of grace God has given us before Christ returns.

We will revisit the days of Noah, when God waited patiently for people to return from their wickedness. Even as the ark stood before them as a visible sign of God’s invitation, no one turned back. Today, the Church is called to be that visible reminder—an ark of grace—showing the world God’s heart through our lives, our compassion, and our commitment to peace and justice.

This Sunday, we will begin Advent by remembering who we are and who we are called to be: A people clothed with Christ, shining God’s light into the world’s darkness. Come and join us as we worship, reflect, and prepare our hearts for the coming of our Lord. All are welcome. Come and enter the season of Advent with hope and joy.
