2025 Prairie Central Lay Academy
Saturdays, November 1st and 8th at 8:30 am to 4:00 pm at Woodridge UMC. All class times must be attended to receive course credit.
- Basic Course - This course is foundational for all courses in Lay Servant Ministries. Participants are encouraged to consider the importance of servant leadership, developing future leaders and remaining rooted in consistent spiritual practices. Instructor: Roger Curless
- Leading in Worship - This course focuses on lay servants who regularly or occasionally lead in worship. Instructor: Rev. Sherry Steele
- Becoming the Beloved Community - This class presents the history and consequences of racism in the United States and seeks to move beyond facts into the human stories and fears behind this history. Instructor: Dr. Richard Guzman
