One Love

Here we are at our fourth week in our journey through the book of Ephesians.  We aren't positive of the writer of Ephesians but it is certainly someone who studied Paul, mastered his method and knew the challenges of the fledgling churches.  Little did the writer of Ephesians know that the church today needed the same message of encouragement to work toward unity in all of its diversity.

This week we turn our attention to one of the more controversial passages found in Ephesians.  To say that there is only one God, and one baptism has caused many a denominational and/or religious feud.   So as we look at this 4th chapter of Ephesians we bring all of our different experiences and perspectives to a conversation that seems to deny our different-ness.  But as we look further, we hear the discussion of how we are different parts of the same body.

All of this "one" conversation reeks of uniformity which is so far from what the passage really says (and most definitely what we have avoided in our lives) with a little deeper digging.  Doing a "deep dive" into the 4th chapter of Ephesians brings us to the other side of the argument to the place where we can celebrate "ONE LOVE".

Bring your "different-ness" to our conversation on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. in person or on YouTube.  We welcome the diversity!!!!

Series Information

We will be traveling through the book of Ephesians as we look at the message Paul gave to the early church.  He talked to the Ephesians about what a diverse group they were -- some were Jews and some were Gentiles -- and how that sometimes makes for difficult conversation.  Paul knew that there needed to be some "ground rules" that had to be put into place for those who were choosing to follow Jesus.  This was his opportunity to remind them of all that had been done on their behalf long before their lives came into being....God had already decided how the story should go.
