Smartphone Generation

As schools restart and our Sunday School resumes, I would like to share some tips with parents and grandparents about how we can guide our kids and grandkids in using their devices—such as smartphones, tablets, and Chromebooks—wisely.

Children ages 4 to 17 spend an average of 5 hours a day on screens, including TV, tablets, and cellphones. Studies show that 78% of parents feel raising children is more complicated today than it was in their parents’ day, and 65% attribute this to technology and social media.

So how can we raise our kids to be healthy and safe, while making sure they always feel loved by both God and their parents? This Sunday, we will explore these questions together:

Q1: When is the right time for our kids to have their own smartphone?
Q2: Where at home should kids not use the internet on their devices? Do you have device-free or screen-free zones in your home?
Q3: What is the best way to teach our kids how to use a smartphone wisely?

See the bulletin here.
