The Church Outside the Gate

During this season of excitement and hope, we find ourselves still "sheltered-in-place" and away from the crowds of others celebrating the Risen Christ!  So let's keep in mind, wherever we may be, every morning is Easter morning from now on!!!!

What does that mean for us being "sheltered" away?  How can we share this great news with the rest of the world?  Last week, we talked about "Exploring Other Options" and the work given to the disciples following the Resurrection.  Over the next several weeks, we will continue to follow the development of the Early Church and the tasks that are yet in front of us for this present time.

This week, we skip over to the 3rd chapter of Acts and find Peter and John on their way to the temple for daily prayer.  They are "interrupted" by someone on their journey who asks that his needs be addressed.  This paralyzed man has been in front of the church, where others have passed by.  Peter and John thought they had to offer money when in fact the needs of the paralyzed man were totally different.  Peter and John on their way to the church building find themselves being the church before they reach the doors.

How do we in 2020 be "THE CHURCH OUTSIDE THE GATES"?  Even before we get to the building, we pass persons in need.  What is our response?  Let's talk about it on Sunday.  Join us electronically at 10:00 a.m. on YouTube.  You can find us at Woodridge UMC.  Please be there!
