Left Behind on Purpose

05.19.23 | by Rev Danita Anderson

Sunday, May 21st, 2023 we will celebrate Methodist Heritage Sunday in our worship setting.  Heritage Sunday is usually celebrated (if at all) closest to May 24th which is called Aldersgate Day.  This is the date that our founder, John Wesley, had his “heart-warming” experience in a church on Aldersgate Street.  He felt as though he could fully trust in God!!  Wesley’s life was one of faith and service, always focusing on how to reach the least, the last and the left out of society.

Who we are and who we have become may be under question now as we look at our denomination, but the fact remains..... our foundation as Methodists ties directly into the task handed to the disciples before Jesus' ascension.  He reminded them that the time was now and the task was huge.  The reassurance that Jesus would be with them in the form of the Holy Spirit should have been enough.  But of course it was not.  We will do a little review and discover why we were "LEFT BEHIND FOR A PURPOSE".  Join us on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. in person or on our YouTube channel.
